Why It Matters

You Read the Label. You Still Don't Know What's Inside.

Here is what "refined" actually means:
  • Petroleum solvent extraction at 200°C+
  • Industrial bleaching
  • Chemical deodorizing

Every nutrient the seed grew for months destroyed before the bottle is sealed. The antioxidants on the label? Synthetic. Added back after processing stripped the natural ones.

Cold pressed oil is what cooking oil was before all of this. Below 50°C. No chemicals. No shortcuts. The seed, pressed.

Why Sattva Origin

Most Brands Say Cold Pressed. We Prove It.

Routinely Lab Tested

Our oils are routinely Lab Tested. Results published publicly. Verify your specific bottle using the batch number on the label.

Babul Wood Press, Not Expeller

Steel expeller presses reach 60–80°C through friction. Babul wood absorbs heat, keeping the extraction genuinely below 50°C.

Single Origin. Never Blended.

One farm region. One harvest. Every batch traceable to its source is documented in the batch report. We never blend across origins or seasons.

72-Hour Natural Settling

No centrifuges. No filter aids. Natural cloudiness in the bottle means nothing was removed. Crystal-clear "cold pressed" oil has been filtered. Ours has not.

Our Story

The Question That Changed Everything.

“When I became a mother, I became more conscious about the everyday choices we make at home especially the food we cook for the people we love.
Cooking oil was one ingredient I had never truly questioned before. But once I started reading labels more carefully, I realised how far modern processing had moved away from the traditional methods many Indian families once trusted.
That search led me to wood-pressed oils slowly extracted, naturally settled, and crafted with patience rather than speed.
I wanted products I could confidently use in my own kitchen every day. When I could not find a brand that reflected those values the way I imagined, I decided to build one.”

Single origin. Never blended.
Manufactured in-house. Nothing outsourced.

The Truth About Cooking Oils

Not all oils are made the same and it matters more than you think.

Most refined oils are extracted using chemical solvents at high temperatures (above 200°C). In this process, natural nutrients like Vitamin E and antioxidants are lost, and the oil is often deodorised to remove odour and flavour.

Cold pressing is different.
Using only mechanical pressure and a traditional wooden press, the oil stays below 45°C preserving its natural nutrients, aroma, and character.

3X Up to 3X more Vitamin E retained
No chemicals, solvents, or preservatives
3kg 3 kg of seeds for every 1 litre of oil
500+ Rooted in 500+ years of Kachi Ghani tradition

Did You Know?

What Your Oil Label Hopes You Never Ask.

Fact 01
It takes 3 kg of groundnuts to make 1 litre of Sattva Origin oil.

Cold pressing extracts only 20–25% oil from seeds compared to 35–40% in chemical extraction. The lower yield is the cost of keeping the process honest. Every bottle represents more seed, more time, more intention.

Fact 02
Refined oil destroys up to 80% of Vitamin E before the bottle is sealed.

Vitamin E is heat-sensitive. Above 50°C it begins to degrade. At 200°C+ the temperature used in industrial deodorising  it is nearly eliminated entirely. Cold pressing never crosses this threshold.

Fact 03
"Refined" means petroleum solvent extraction not a cleaner process.

Hexane, a petroleum byproduct, is used in most commercial oil extraction because it improves yield by 15–20%. It also destroys every heat-sensitive nutrient in the seed and can leave trace residues in the final product.

Fact 04
If your cooking oil has no smell, it has been chemically deodorised.

The warm, nutty fragrance of cold pressed groundnut oil is evidence of intact volatile compounds not burning oil. Refined oil removes these at 200–270°C. Sometimes synthetic fragrance is added back.

Fact 05
Crystal-clear oil has been bleached. Cloudy oil has not.

Natural cloudiness in cold pressed oil means nothing beneficial was removed through industrial filtration. Refined oil's uniform pale clarity comes from clay and acid bleaching, a process that strips phytosterols, polyphenols, and natural lecithin.

Fact 06
Your great-grandmother's cooking oil was cold pressed.

It just wasn't called that. Before industrial refining arrived in India, every household pressed oil in a local ghani  below 50°C, no chemicals, no shortcuts. Cold pressed oil is not a wellness trend. It is what cooking oil always was.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions People Ask Before Switching.

Cold pressed groundnut oil has a ~160°C smoke point suitable for tadka, sautéing, parathas, and shallow frying. Sesame oil reaches ~177°C. Both cover the full range of everyday Indian cooking at medium heat.

This is the most common question we receive and the answer is important: cloudiness and fine sediment are signs of purity, not contamination. After cold pressing, our oil settles naturally for 72 hours no centrifuges, no filter aids. Fine seed particles remain suspended and create a slight haze. Crystal-clear cold-pressed oil has been filtered; ours has not. Gently warm or shake before use, or refrigerate to settle further. Either way, you are consuming exactly what came out of the press.

Babul wood press instead of steel, 72-hour natural settling without centrifuges, four independent lab tests per batch, and public batch reports verifiable by bottle number. Our approach combines traditional wood pressing, natural settling, careful sourcing, and quality testing designed for thoughtful modern kitchens.

Cold pressed groundnut oil at 46% oleic acid, zero trans fats, and full Vitamin E retention is nutritionally superior to refined oil for everyday use.
